Oblivion
Has become my dreams
And my nightmares
Oblivion
Has become my dreams
And my nightmares
We are better off
Prowling the earth
Looking for someone
To devour
Than to be easy
On roses thorns
In your fortress of fears
The things we find are foul
Carried
By the angels,
Keeping
Demons at bay
Desires
To heal and to live
But they came
And took you away
I watched as you struggled
Pouring your devotion
Nails were split
And splintering
You ached and ached
They tore you down!
You hit your head!
I watched as they took your soul
Your liberated
Body collided
It was free,
Less pain,
And powerful
There was a
Strong will
To survive
But they took
You a -way
I wonder if they
knew you were ready
I hope you were
I was too,
I was too
Madness consumes
And i know they are watching
I know they are watching
I know they are watching
I know they are watching
I know they are watching
I know they are watching
I know they are watching
I lay within
Wondering
What souls will die
There was a strong
Will to survive
But they took you
Away
Oblivion has become
My dreams and my nightmares
We are better off
Prowling the earth
Looking for someone
To devour
How many days
And how many nights
A long and done for effort
Stands inside me
There was hunger
To heal
And to live
They took you away

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
